Mansfield University... Developing Tomorrow's Leaders Transfer Students

Credit Transfer

Transfer of CREDITS:

 Prospective Transfer Students:
We are happy to review your transcripts, prior to applying, to determine transfer credits. Simply submit the following information, via email, to a Transfer Counselor:

  • List of courses completed, and in-progress, with course number, title, number of credits, and grade earned, if completed.
  • Name of school at which courses were completed. (If multiple schools were attended, a separate list for each school is required.)
  • Your intended degree program at Mansfield University.
  • A statement requesting an "Unofficial Evaluation of Transfer Credits."

Accepted Students:
Following acceptance into the university, an evaluation of courses taken at previous institutions is made by the Registrar's Office, in consultation with the appropriate academic departments.

Credits are evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Exceptions to this policy are specified in the State System of Higher Education Academic Passport for students transferring from Pennsylvania community colleges and transfer agreements between Mansfield University and many two year institutions.

Credits in the music area must be validated by examination before they are accepted for transfer. This is to ensure that the student is capable of successfully completing the remaining required courses.

Transfer Equivalency Appeal:
Transfer students seeking to appeal an equivalency or the application of their transfer credits to a degree program, may do so by submitting a request in writing, to the transfer coordinator. (A course syllabus may be requested.)

Second Degree-Seeking Transfer:
Students who enter Mansfield with a prior bachelor's degree, granted from a regionally-accredited institution, will have coursework waived rather than transferred. All of the general education requirements will be waived, with the exception of those specifically required of the major.
