Orientation
Information regarding new student orientation will be sent to you beginning in March (once you have confirmed your attendance to the University); this mailing contains an orientation brochure which includes a tear-out registration card. Please select your desired date and return the card in the postage-paid envelope.
Orientation is mandatory for all first-time students and is designed to help you become familiar with the campus and finalize registration of fall classes. Please visit our Orientation webpage for more information.

Transfer Orientation Dates for 2009 are:

Make-Up Orientation Date for 2009 is:
- Thursday, August 27, 2009
Students will be able to move into the Residence Halls while here for the makeup orientation.

Placement Exams:
If you are a Freshman student, your academic information will be processed to determine if you are required to take any placement exams. If the English or Math Placement exams are required, you will take these exams during your orientation session. Once you have selected an orientation date, you will receive a letter indicating if you are required to take the exams.
If you are a Transfer student, and have successfully completed a university level Math and English course equivalent, you DO NOT have to take the Math or English Placement exams. If the English or Math Placement exams are required, you will receive notification in the mail. You will take all placement exams during your orientation session.
Advanced Placement (AP) Courses and College Transcripts:
If you are taking any Advanced Placement (AP) Courses or completing college coursework while still in high school, please be sure to have the official AP scores and/or college transcript(s) forwarded to the Admissions Office.
Health Forms:
All first year students are required to complete a health form. This health form must be completed and returned in order for the student to be treated at the University health clinic.
Academic Advisor
Each student is assigned an advisor from within their academic department. Once you arrive on campus, you will be instructed to visit the department secretary from within your intended major. You will then be provided with contact information for your advisor.
Summer & Fall 2009 students: New Student Account information (this includes your email account) WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE until early May for students beginning in the summer. If you are beginning in the fall, account information will be available at the time of your orientation. If you will be attending the Make-Up Orientation session, your accounts will be available beginning August 3, 2009. If you try to access your accounts prior to this, they will not work. Please refer to the My Account link for further information.
